about

This song took so many turns. It was written about the pain of loving someone, and of being loved back. When I recorded it in this beautiful studio in Nashville, it was the end of a long day of recording. I was sick, lost my voice and could hardly talk. It took everything I had to find the deepest breath I could to get a tone out. My throat was so raw when I spoke with shallow breath as we all often do, nothing came out. By the time I was finished recording the song I was sweating and no voice was left. It took days to recover.

When I got back to Victoria, and my voice had healed, I was going to re-record the vocals because they sounded so raw on this recording. I decided not to, because it was a tribute to how we must all do what we love, love who we love, even when it hurts. Especially when it hurts.

Loving with your Armour on Fire, is knowing how to really love.

lyrics

There's a space in the noise
In the heart of a church choir
That bleeds its heart
Sunday after Sunday

There's a noise in the hallways
In the cracks of their eyes

Ooooo...

If I don't know how to love, through the fire
Then I'll never know love at all
If I don't know how to love, through the fire
Then I'll never know love at all
Oooooo...

I had a dream last nigh
I dreamed you were in my bed
And your armour was on fire
And all I could do was scream

Oooooo....

If I don't know how to love, through the fire
Then I'll never know love at all
If I don't know how to love, through the fire
Then I'll never know love at all
Oooooo...
